BAG OF MEPHEDRONE FOUND OUTSIDE MORRISONS

The Bag Of Powder

Just a day after reporting on youths using mephedrone on the Island we get a tip-off that a bag of white powder was found outside a supermarket in Newport.

A member of the public contacted the IW Chronicle after finding a bag of powder suspected to be the new street drug mephedrone.

So it’s appears as if it’s not just used syringes that people are finding across the Island,  now it’s bags of powder.

We have been told that the bag was outside the main entrance to Morrisons near the trolleypark today (10th Feb 2010).

The finder of the bag of white powder said:

I got a trolley and saw the bag on the floor but didn’t think much of it. It was only after I had done my shopping and put the trolley back I looked at it a bit closer and realised it contained what looked to be the new drug mephedrone.  Not what you expect to find outside a supermarket, there was children everywhere.

I waited half the day  for the police to come and collect it, In the end they sent out a PCSO who said it looked like space-e so as it hasn’t been involved with a crime it will just be destroyed.

Oh I see … so thats ok then eh?
What if a small child had picked it up and got their fingers in it while the parent was busy shopping or otherwise distracted…???
Oh well that didnt happen so thats ok then eh?
I would have taken a photo of it and called police on the spot without touching it and told them I was staying put until they came for it I would then have warned anyone coming near to be aware and of course called the IWChronicle too …!!!
Still Im a bit of a worry guts…
