The last match in the series for 2010 Middleton cup was played at Cove bowling Club, against Buckinghamshire.
The team started in positive mood by taking a ten shot lead after the first ten ends, however, this euphoria was not to last, as Buckinghamshire turned over the ten shot deficit and was leading by ten shots after ten ends.
From this point on Buckinghamshire did not look back and they ran out convincing winners by 137 shots to 100.
After the match Presdident Allan Timbrell awarded Middleton Cup flashes to Jack Berry of Shanklin and Chris Noble of Warner.

The National Champion of Champions regional finals were held at Atherley Bowling Club in Southampton.
Both of our entries managed to reach this stage, however Auriol Ash of Ventnor Lst her first round match against Alison Fail of Purton B C in Withshire by 21 shots to 16.
Jack Berry of Shanklin was up against Chris Daniels of Boscombe Cliff B C in Bournemouth, the result was a win for Chris by 21 shots to 10, he became the eventual winner and goes forward to Worthing for the National Finals
Cowes Medina having reached the area final of the Club Two Rink competition came up against very strong opposition from College Park Bowling Club of Portsmouth. The two rinks for Medina were Adam Clark, Fred Rylands, Paul Dickinson and Darren Griffith, Tony Partridge, Simon New, Chris New and Peter Furmidge. The final result was a win for College Park by 49 shots to 20.
In the ladies over 55 singles competition Pauline Proud of Ventnor is still going strong, beating Auriol Ash also of Ventnor by 21 shots to 19.
The over 55 pairs competition still has two pairs competing, Lynda Bell and Hazel Bench from Shanklin, who beat their team mates Jenny Morgan and Di Englis by 27 shots to 10, whilst Pauline Proud with Barbara Sleep of Ventnor played Stella Harrison and Mhaire Day of Sandown and won by 26 shots tom 18

The ladies competitions continue with the semi finals of the triples, with and all Ryde Marina final,
Audrey Abrahams, Sandra Aldridge and Hazel Vickery due to play Jan green, Ellie Barnes and Kathy Tighe in the final.
The two wood semi finals saw Margaret Haynes (Newport) beat Jan Green held (Ryde Marina) and
Ellie Barrett (Ryde Marina) beat Eileen Hill (Totland) to reach the final.
SHANKLIN GALA TRIPLES
This event is due to be played on Bank Holiday Monday August 30th. We have been advised that the organisers have several spaces to fill. This is a very good tournament with cash prizes to be won, it is played all day in a round-robin format.
