Princess Royal
Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal will visit the Isle of Wight on Friday 1 October 2010
The Princess Royal is the second child and only daughter of The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh. She received the title Princess Royal from The Queen in June 1987; she was previously known as Princess Anne.
During the visit, HRH will unveil a plaque at the Isle of Wight College to commemorate the opening of its new Sixth Form Centre.
She will also visit HM Prison Isle of Wight where she will be shown a workshop where wheelchairs are repaired by prisoners through an organisation called Wheels for the World. HRH will also meet staff involved with The Butler Trust, of which she is patron and learn about the prison charity Veterans in Prison Association.
