The Isle of Wight Community Fund (IWCF) is encouraging local groups to apply for funding as it opens its small grants programme.
The focus of the fund for this round is to assist projects aimed at supporting young Islanders.
8 small grants of £250 are available to voluntary and community groups and non-profit making organisations. Grants will be available for volunteer expenses, equipment, training or organisational running costs. The IWCF is especially interested in supporting smaller groups where a small grant can make a big difference.
In 2009 the IWCF distributed over £133,000 to 46 groups on the Island through the various grant programmes it manages locally.
The IWCF has a simple and straightforward application process and welcomes applications from established organisations as well as new groups and projects. Full details can be found on the website www.hantscf.org.uk/iwcf. The deadline for applications is 24th September.
