The first afternoon kick off of the season brought us away to Sandown and Lake. We all knew this would be a tough match for the Valley but how would they cope??? Let’s see…
The game started with great pace from both teams. Callum Ryan scored the opening goal in style in the 10th minute. A fantastic pass from Jack Croad set up a superb goal by Antony Kettell in the 12th minute. Sandown and Lake responded with goals in the 14th and 18th minute. George Hyde, Jake Ferguson, Harry Wintersgill, Declan Clarke and Callum Ryan played excellently in midfield. The game then flowed quite nicely until half time approached with the half time score of 2-2.
The 2nd half started with confidence in both sides. Callum Steele, Declan Morgan Philips and Travis Steptoe played absolutely superb in defence doing all they could to stop Sandown and Lake score goals. Jack Croad, Antony Kettell and Baggy Silman played excellently up front doing all they could pressuring the Sandown and Lake defence. Sandown and Lake scored a goal in the 53rd minute following by goals for Sandown and Lake in the 55th and 58th minute. Bailey Exposite made exceptional saves as always in goal. He is scared of nothing!!!! Full time came with the final score of 5-2.
It’s the dreaded 2-2 half time score for the 2nd time this season. Never Mind let’s hope the next game is better.
