Services of remembrance took place in towns and villages across the Isle of Wight today to mark those who lost their lives fighting for our country.
Despite the bad weather, a traditional procession took place from the Guildhall, Newport to Sts Thomas’ Square led by the Isle of Wight Council’s Mace Bearer.
Members of the Royal British Legion, local councillors, representatives from the Island’s emergency services, representatives from HMP Isle of Wight and local scout and brownie groups also got involved
A Services of Remembrance took place in Bembridge, Binstead, Brading, Brighstone, Cowes, East Cowes, Godshill, Gurnard, Lake, Newchurch, Newport, Northwood, Ryde, St Lawrence, Sandown, Shanklin, Totland, Ventnor, Yarmouth, Wootton, Wroxall, St Helens, Seaview and Freshwater.
