Valley vs Gurnard
After the long Christmas break, Rew Valley were off to Gurnard to play a mighty Gurnard Gladiators side. After the defeat at the last occasion of playing them, could Rew Valley change the result this time?
The game started evenly matched but with Rew Valley slightly ahead. A fantastic goal came from Antony Kettell in the 11th minute. Callum Steele produced an exceptional cross to set up Jack Croad and scored a superb goal to put the Valley 0-2 up in the 24th minute. The midfield and up-front players of Declan Clarke, Jake Ferguson, Harry Wintersgill, Antony Kettell and Jack Croad put pressure on Gurnard every minute of the match with superb play all game round.Half time came with the score 0-2.
After the very inspiring team talk, Rew Valley went out as confident as ever. Bailey Exposite played exceptional in goal and is certainly one of the best goal keepers in the league. The defence of Callum Steele, Travis Steptoe and George Hyde played fantastically in their role which kept Gurnard away from the goal. On the 49th minute, Callum Ryan scored an excellent “lob” goal which at that point of the game, put the certainty that the Valley would win today.
A brilliant performance from all players and a well deserved win. Also, this game is the 1st game this season that we have got a clean sheet which the whole team including Bailey was really pleased about. Let’s hope the following games follow in this great form.
