Drivers parking at Red Funnel’s Isle of Wight terminal in Southampton can now use the UK’s leading pay by phone service, RingGo, to pay for their parking. Motorists call 0203 046 0010, or go on line to purchase either one-off parking using a credit or debit card, or a longer term parking permit.
Drivers that have used the cashless parking service at one of RingGo’s 3,000+ locations across the UK will have their parking fast tracked, as the service automatically recognises their mobile number and retrieves vehicle and payment card details. With RingGo offered widely across the UK, including nearby towns of Andover, Bournemouth, Christchurch, Havant, Poole, Portsmouth and Romsey, as well as local South West Trains stations, likelihood is high that local motorists will have seen or used the service elsewhere, says Adam Dolphin, Sales Manager for RingGo.
“Coverage of RingGo across the south of England is particularly good”, Dolphin comments, “so we’re very pleased that a key transport hub like Red Funnel Ferries has decided to offer the service too. It obviously helps if motorists recognise and have tried the service before, as they’re comfortable using it and the payment process is quicker too.
“Given the current economic climate, many more UK residents are likely to be taking short breaks at home, and places like the Isle of Wight are a popular destination. While many take their vehicles with them, people popping over to the Island for a few days away, or for a special event like Cowes Week, can avoid parking hassle on the Island by driving to the terminal and leaving their car here.”
Registered users of RingGo can pay for their parking in a variety of ways – by text message, online at www.myRingGo.co.uk through a pc or smartphone, or by using RingGo’s special iPhone application, which can be downloaded through the phone. A further benefit of RingGo is that parking time can be topped up remotely if the owner stays away longer than planned.
