APPEAL AFTER HOUSE BURGLARY IN BRADING

Police are appealing for information after arrests were made during enquiries into a burglary at a house in New Road, Brading, near Sandown on the Isle of Wight.

A man aged in his 30s came home at approximately 11.15am on Monday, April 18, 2011, disturbing a suspected burglary in progress.

Several items of jewellery and a Rolex watch were reported stolen.

A 24-year-old man from Newport, Isle of Wight was arrested later the same day (Monday, April 18, 2011) on suspicion of burglary. He was later released with no further action.

Two other men, aged 37 and 31, both from Newport, Isle of Wight, were arrested on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 on suspicion of burglary. They were bailed until June 18, 2011 pending further enquiries.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said: “Detectives from Isle of Wight CID are continuing forensic enquiries and appeals within the local community. We would like to thank everyone who has come forward with information already. Officers remain keen to hear from anyone who has information about attempts to sell jewellery and a Rolex watch second hand over the past fortnight.”

The watch reported stolen is described as a black and red coloured Rolex GMT Master II.
