AUTISM FRIENDLY GET TOGETHER IN VENTNOR

National Family Week is back (30 May – 5 June 2011) and promises to be even bigger and better with a fun-filled week of activities, events, money saving offers and competitions for the whole family to enjoy.

Now in its third year, National Family Week is the largest celebration of families and family life in the UK. This year over 6,000 family-friendly events and activities will take place all across the UK during the week and the NAS IOW branch is proud to be part of this great family initiative. On Saturday 4th June at Ventor Botanic Garden, families known to the NAS IOW branch will be meeting up at the Ventnor Botanic Garden Play Park and Picnic area with the opportunity to get together and have some fun in a beautiful setting.

The average family spends just 49 minutes a day together according to a poll commissioned by National Family Week in 2010 so it’s time to shine the spotlight on spending time together as a family and highlight the importance of this. The NAS IOW branch would like to invite families from the Isle of Wight to join us and do just that!

The NAS IOW branch are inviting families affected by the autistic spectrum to come along to an Autism Friendly Get Together at the Ventnor Botanic Garden where they will be given the opportunity to get together, talk and hopefully have some fun with other families who understand what it’s like to have a child on the autistic spectrum. Families are being asked to bring along a picnic, blanket and outdoor toys of their choice.
