HAVE YOUR SAY ON TRAVEL TO HOSPITAL ARRANGEMENTS

Islanders have until the Friday 13th May 2011 to have their say on arrangements made for travel to and from St. Mary’s Hospital, Newport, Isle of Wight. NHS Isle of Wight is conducting a 6 week consultation in collaboration with the Island’s Local Involvement Network (LINk).

The consultation covers a number of areas and modes of transport to and from the St, Mary’s Hospital including:

  • Car Parking
  • Car Share
  • Cycling
  • Mobility scooters
  • Motorcycles
  • Patient Transport Service
  • Public Transport
  • Voluntary Car Services
  • Walking

Chief Operating Officer, Karen Baker said: “We want as many patients, visitors and staff to participate in this consultation and share their views and ideas so that we can take them into account when reviewing travel and transport issues. We know that the solution to this is not as simple as just increasing the number of spaces or changing the cost of parking. Undoubtedly there are some things we have direct influence over and others we can only hope to influence.”

The consultation document can be downloaded from the travel to Hospital consultation pages at www.iow.nhs.uk/yoursay or copies can be requested by e-mail from travel@iow.nhs.uk or by writing to Travel to Hospital Consultation, Estates Management Department, St. Mary’s Hospital, Parkhurst Road, NEWPORT, PO30 5TG. Copies of the consultation document will also be available at the Reception Desk in the Main Entrance to the Hospital and in the Full Circle Restaurant.
