Police on the Isle of Wight are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of 76 year old Gerald Robertson, who has been missing from the Autumn House care home in the Avenue Road in Sandown since Friday night.
Jerry, as he prefers to be called, was reported missing by staff at 11.30pm on Friday, May 20. After discovering that Mr Robertson was not at the care home, staff conducted a search and located him on Avenue Road outside the Burlington Hotel. However, he refused to accompany the staff back home, became aggressive towards them, and continued on his way. There have been no sightings of him since.
Mr Robertson was placed at Autumn House in March this year, having previously lived in St Johns Road in Sandown. He is particularly vulnerable, suffering from dementia, depression and heart disease.
Police have conducted a number of searches during the night and are continuing with further searches and extensive enquiries this morning.
Garry Robertson is described as follows:

- 5 ft 7ins tall
- Slim build
- Receeding white hair
- Possibly wearing gold-framed glasses
- Wearing black trousers, black shoes, a light sweater and a quarter-length black coat.
Mr Robertson speaks with a Scottish accent.
