Parents reminded to complete school admission forms

Parents and carers of children due to start primary or secondary school in September 2012 are reminded to return their completed school admission forms to the Isle of Wight Council.

The deadline is 4.30pm on Friday 28 October. Applications received after that date will be treated as late and will not be considered until after places have been allocated to children whose applications were received on time.

Application packs were sent via schools and pre-schools to parents/carers of children who are due to start or transfer school in September 2012. Parents or carers who haven’t received a pack should contact the school admissions office by calling 01983 823455 or by email to school.admissions@iow.gov.uk.

It is very important that the completed forms are received by the Isle of Wight Council’s school admissions office, County Hall, High Street, Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 1UD by the final deadline of 4.30pm on Friday 28 October 2011.

Forms can be completed online

Forms can also be completed online via the Isle of Wight Council’s website – www.iwight.com/schooladmissions.

Parents or guardians who apply online will automatically receive an email response confirming that their application form has been received electronically; parents are advised to check that they receive this confirmation. The deadline for online applications is also 4:30pm on Friday 28 October 2011.

The council will subsequently process the admission forms in preparation for National Offer Day on 1 March 2012, when letters, and an email for those who applied online, will be issued.

Anyone with questions about the application process, or who wish to seek additional information, should contact the council’s school admissions office by calling 01983 823455 or by email to school.admissions@iow.gov.uk.
