Police are appealing for witnesses to a road traffic collision at around 7.50am on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 in Bettesworth Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight.

A cyclist was injured when his bicycle came into contact with a car, which was described as a silver Volvo. The 19-year-old cyclist from Ryde, Isle of Wight, received leg injuries, which were not believed to be life-threatening. He was taken to hospital.

It’s alleged the Volvo driver did not stop at the scene after the collision.

Police would like to speak with anyone who saw what happened, particularly the driver of a silver Volvo, and the driver of a blue Ford Ka, which was also seen nearby at the time of the collision. Officers understand that the Ford Ka driver stopped to help with first aid at the scene.
