Integrated marketing communications agency, Carswell Gould, has won four prestigious awards for its promotion of the GORE-TEX® Arctic Challenge. The company scooped four awards last night (November 2) at the Wessex CIPR PRide awards. They were:
- Best use of social media – GOLD AWARD
- Best integrated communications – SILVER AWARD
- Best consumer relations – GOLD AWARD
- Best measurement and evaluation – GOLD AWARD
The awards are a huge accolade as they showcase the best PR and social media work being carried out across the vast Wessex region – and more than 1,000 entries were made this year.
All of Carswell Gould’s awards were for its work with the GORE-TEX® Arctic Challenge, which took place earlier this year.
The challenge saw eight people, including Pete Goss MBE, travel some 1,000 miles from Scotland to the Arctic Circle in two small RIBs (Rigid Inflatable Boats), with the aim of promoting their use to a wider audience, proving their capabilities and encouraging people to get on the water.
To ensure the campaign ran smoothly, Carswell Gould’s Ed Gould joined the crew on the challenge. By taking part himself he was able to feed back high quality photography and video footage, respond to media requests from the remote locations and feed back blogs and social media updates from the water. All this meant nothing was missed and the public had the most up to date news on what the crew was doing.
As a result, the challenge reached millions of people online and benefitted from media coverage across the world. The Telegraph featured a double page spread and daily online blogs on the challenge, thanks to Carswell Gould getting the paper’s features writer, Bryony Gordon, on board.
The campaign had a potential on and offline reach of over 18 million.
Gill Gould, Carswell Gould’s Managing Partner, said: “We are absolutely over the moon in the office. We are very proud of our work within the marine industry and are passionate about bringing the joy of being on the water to a new, wider audience. By reaching more than 18 million people with this campaign we know we have done just that.”
Carswell Gould’s work with the GORE-TEX® Arctic Challenge is also shortlisted for a national social media award. It has been shortlisted in the ‘Best Travel/Leisure/Sports Social Media Strategy’ category at the Social Buzz Awards. The winners will be revealed at a glitzy award ceremony in London in December.
